Notice on the Affordable Connectivity Program
On January 11, 2024, the FCC announced that the ACP subsidy could end in April 2024, pending additional funding decisions by Congress. The last day for consumers to enroll in the ACP is February 7, 2024. New consumers must apply and enroll with a service provider by 11:59 pm ET on this date.

If you are currently enrolled in ACP through LUS Fiber, please know that we're closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as new developments occur. LUS Fiber is committed to offering affordable services and will explore all possibilities to continue doing so.

What does the wind-down mean for ACP households?

The wind-down of the Affordable Connectivity Program means that no new enrollments will be accepted after February 7, 2024, at 8:59 PM Pacific Time. Households enrolled before this cut-off date will continue to receive benefits until ACP funds are depleted, provided they remain eligible.

What should ACP households expect?

ACP households will continue to receive benefits until funding runs out.
Internet providers, in collaboration with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), will issue notices regarding:
The termination of ACP benefits
The impact on your monthly bill
Options for adjusting or discontinuing your service

At the end of March, we encourage you to contact us to discuss whether staying on your current plan or switching to other options is the best choice for you.
When funding runs out (estimated in April), you will be responsible for the full cost of your monthly internet bill.

What is the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)?

Congress recently created the Affordable Connectivity Program, a long-term, $14 billion program, which will replace the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program. This investment in broadband affordability will help ensure we can afford the internet connections we need for work, school, health care and more for a long time. LUS Fiber is a participating provider in this FCC program.

The benefit will provide a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.

The ACP Program will be limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.

What if I am already enrolled in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?

Consumers who are enrolled in the EBB Program as of December 31, 2021, will have a 60-day transition period where they continue to receive their full EBB Program monthly $50 benefit before moving to the reduced ACP benefit of $30 per month. You do not have to take any action to continue to receive your benefit at the current level during the 60-day transition period.

During the transition period, EBB subscribers that qualified for the EBB Program using an eligibility program that does not qualify for the ACP (substantial loss of income or participation in a service provider’s COVID-19 program) will need to confirm their eligibility for the ACP. Subscribers who qualified through these eligibility criteria who are unable to demonstrate their eligibility for the ACP will be de-enrolled at the end of the 60-day transition period. If you fall into one of these categories, we will further contact you.
